Green Sustainable Environment: Mangrove Setting

This is a project that applies the value of volunteerism within the community whereas this project will be focusing towards the planting of mangrove seedlings and the replanting of mangrove trees saplings in the waters of Kampong Johor Lama, Kota Tinggi.The mangrove seedlings planting projects is capable of developing the value of love towards nature within volunteers. In addition, it is also capable of giving information on the importance of each and every mangrove trees towards the local ecosystem. Moreover, the volunteers will get to develop a two-way communication with the public in order develop their communication skills.An estimated 2,020 seedlings will be inspected before being moved to a suitable location for their plantation accompanying with celebration of the year 2020. A partnership between KEJORA and the representative of the village as well as a few collaboration with NGOs such as Tour Guide Agency and Panz Resort Advanture Management to successfully run this program.

Project Objectives (Vision & Mission)

  1. To develop a value of love towards nature within the volunteers.
  2. To create the mangrove plantation as a barrier for the beaches and the local ecosystem which also promotes Kampung Johor Lama, Kota Tinggi as a progressive tourism place.
  3. To spread the importance of mangrove plantation towards the local ecosystem.
  4. To develop the students’ skill of communication through interation with the public that shows the dormancy of the students in the publics’ eye.

Note:
The process of accumulation of mangrove seedlings and transfer mangrove will took a longer time due of the distance from the nursery to the nearest Islands 9; almost 30 to 40 minutes.

Expected Project Result & Outcomes

If this project was done successfully, with full of hope this project will:

  1. About 2020 (even more) mangrove seedlings can be prepared.
  2. Improve and sustain the aquatic ecosystem.

Promote the dedicated place as an ecotourism hence will increase the visibility of the area to the global.
