Section I
We plan to build a mini library and make a farm for the children in the village.
Our objective is to empower the residents especially children to be independent, re-awaken a sense of pride in their surroundings, to encourage different races and religion to live in a peaceful life.
We did fund-raising in order to have greater budget to buy the equipment and to pay our transport fees. We shared the message to people around us such as our lecturer and friends and encourage them to donate and support the project.
We discuss with lecturer and plan to do the project together. We make a small plantation near the mosque for the children. Our goal is to develop the kid activity skill of how to plant a vegetable and flower. The kid will learn how to work for each other as a team to plant. Besides that, we also built a mini library in the mosque for all the kids to give the opportunities for the kid to read and learn from new and different kind of book. Majority of the children come from Indian family and fortunately the people in the mosque are fine to lend the place for us to carry out the project. It does help to unite the villagers in the village despite different races and religions.
Building a farm for the children provide a long term benefit to them as they can gain the planting skills, manage the farm and get the crops they have planted. Other than that, building a mini library does encourage the children to read and gain knowledge in order to improve their quality of life in future.
Section II
(a) It would give beneficial to both sides even if it was planned in a short time, but what we have contributed to the community would remain long-term as we are teaching them to work together taking care of the mini farm that we have created and worked together with the community. As days, weeks or months has passed, together we would take care of what we have created in good care, and they can bring and teach more people on how to take care and learn more by communicating with each other, regardless of what race they are.
In conclusion, after doing this project it taught us to be selfless, we learned to give not because we have much, but because we know how it feels to have nothing. By giving the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.
(b) Complete this section with a one to two sentence personal statement, suitable for use as a quotation, addressing how and why this project was valuable and what was the most important
You can’t simply put a price on how valuable one project is, but by giving the smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention. Seeing, being apart and witnessing the smiles around you is the best reward that you will receive.
