This is a project about Traditional Wayang Kulit Kelantan which is an initiative of the students who pursue their studies in the field of publishing and management of theater productions from the Faculty Film Theater and Animation, Universiti Teknologi Mara.Theatrical traditional Wayang Kulit Kelantan was a theater of Kelantan Malay heritage which is very popular in the past are now almost no heirs. Through this project, we will work together to stage a traditional theatrical performances in an open space in a selected supermarket namely as either at Space U8, TTDI Jaya, Shah Alam, Selangor. It is as a strategy to expose the cultural art to the public directly.
Overview of Issue / Background

Project Objectives (Vision & Mission)
- Showing the tradition and culture of Malay community through Wayang Kulit Kelantan performance to urban community and younger generation.
- Revive the traditional art of Malay community which is becoming extinction. Through fostering traditional puppet theater.
- Fostering audience to learn the traditional art of Wayang Kulit Kelantan
Project Details (Activities and Tasks)
Traditional theatrical performances will be staged for 60-90 minutes directly in front of the audience. It will involve a group of traditional musicians of a group of 8 people (UiTM students) who all have different features musical instruments. Theater performances will be led by a mastermind who acts as a versatile storyteller. He is skilled in handling a puppet and produce unique vocal variations. The stories often depend on the creativity of a storyteller. The main point of this work is to present an authentic traditional performance to be showcased to the public now.

Expected Project Result & Outcomes
- We expect about 500 audience will get to know what is traditional Malay puppet show.
- The performance will be documented into videos to be uploaded and shared on social media/digital content as a record of reference.
- Benefits generated from the souvenir sale will be channeled to puppet makers as a support of continuation of this art.

Section I
- By provided a live traditional performance to the public, we had received some of a positive comments. The public seems really enjoy to watch Wayang Kulit Kelantan directly.
- By produced this theatre, we can share a few nice thing about culture and arts which is blended into a unique form of arts stage.
- Some of the spectators came and shown their interest of this traditional theatre. They visited behind stage and do an interview directly to the Dalang.
- Some of the audiences do some observation of craft wayang kulit during the event.
- The students whom involved in this project practically had gained a new experienced of managing a small scale of production and simultaneously contribute to the future event.
- However, this traditional performance should get a great support as to reveal our culture identity.
- We are very hope to tradition this arts performance again especially among new generation.
FUTURE PLAN AND STRATEGY
- We will continue to expand Wayang Kulit Kelantan to become one of the famous traditional theatre in Malaysia especially to youngest people.
- We also try to gather and train a potential Dalang. Hopefully, will get a lot of representative youngest generation be part as a Dalang (Dalang Muda).
- As a step to regain this tradition, we also try to create an experiment of this form of arts stage as to attract our young generation to be part in this field.
