Most senior citizens at Holy Family Residence for Senior Citizens, Papar, rarely receive visitors and they typically feel lonely and their grooming needs tend to be overlooked which further make them feel more isolated and neglected.

Hence, this project aims to provide grooming services such as manicure, pedicure and massages conducted by cosmetology students while engaging in warm conversation with them along with some social activities namely karaoke singalong and social dance.

With Malaysia is quickly becoming an ageing nation, it is crucial for My Starfish Foundation to advocate for initiatives that support aged population and for the public to play their part to improve our care towards our elderly.

Project Vision: To enhance the dignity, confidence, and well-being of elderly individuals through compassionate beauty, wellness, and community care services.

Project Mission: To empower Cosmetology students to use their professional skills in serving the elderly community by providing grooming, wellness, and social engagement activities that promote self-care, emotional well-being, and meaningful human connections.

1. Meeting on finalizing details and appointment of roles as well as delegations of tasks among the organizing committee.

2. Sorting out travelling matters and logistics pertinent to the trip made to the Holy Family Residence for Senior Citizens, Papar, from Keningau for this project. 

3. Conducting briefing followed by grooming treatments to the residents of the old folks' home as well as the staff.

4. On the same day, social activities comprising  karaoke singalong, social dance as well as chit-chat session involving the old folks as well as the organizing committee are conducted.

5. Presentation of donation of essential aids and certificates.

6. Post- mortem meeting

Our goal is to enable these senior citizens to receive grooming treatment that benefits their sociemotional and physical wellbeing. There are approximately 44 senior citizens who reside at this old folks' home along with 12 staff members and they all will be given at least one grooming treatment from the three (pedicure, manicure, massaging and hair trimming).
